Department history

After Uzbek language had been declared as the official language of Uzbekistan, on October 21, 1989, “Department of Uzbek Language” was founded on October 21, 1989 according to the Decree N-306 of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. Y. Eshonkulov, assistant professor, Candidate of Philological Science was appointed to be the head of the chair. In 1989-1990 educational years, there were 7 teachers and 2 laboratory assistants in the Department. From February, 1991, B. Norboev assistant professor, Candidate of Philological Science was appointed to be the head of the chair. In these years (1991-1997) the department held activities on teaching Uzbek language to non-Uzbek students and working with Latin graphic as well as teaching the course of “Feature Medical Education”. In 1999, the Department was renamed as “Uzbek, Russian and Latin languages department” and the sections of Russian and Latin languages were joint it. In 2005, the sections of Pedagogy and Psychology were joint the department and it was renamed as “Uzbek, Russian, Latin languages, Pedagogy, Psychology”. The workers of the department have been working according to the Statute confirmed by the rector of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. Our department is on the 3rd flour of the main building in “The City of Students” and 4th flour of “Tashkent Centre of Studying and Treating” in Academic lyceum of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. There are 10 classrooms to teach students and each classroom is equipped with necessary equipments according to its teaching subject.
