From 1947 to 1972 the Department of pediatric surgery Tashgosmi and from 1972 to 1979 SAMPI Department was headed by Dr. med. Professor Karim Tahirov Agaevich. From September 1979 to 2002, this Department was headed by doctor of medicine. D., Professor of Sulaymonov Amirbai Suleimanovich.

In addition to educational, scientific and medical work, teachers are constantly working to improve their pedagogical skills. The Department of "Faculty surgery of childhood" was formed on the basis of the Department of "Pediatric surgery №1" in 2003, located on the territory of the clinic TashPMI where it operates to this day. In just 40 years of existence, the Department has done a lot of work. Organization of pediatric surgical, traumatological, orthopedic, oncological and resuscitation – anesthesiological care in Uzbekistan and the republics of Central Asia. Over the past period, tens of thousands of students have received education in pediatric surgery. As a result, from year to year, the diagnostic errors of surgical diseases are reduced, and surgical treatment of sick children is reduced

 

In 1979, the Department of pediatric surgery was divided into 2 independent departments: Department of pediatric surgery No. 1 and pediatric surgery No. 2. Administratively, the departments were attached to pediatric faculties No. 1 and No. 2.

The Department is located on three basic clinics:
1) clinic TashPMI-the main base for pediatric surgery (60 beds);
2) Republican scientific and practical medical center of Pediatrics, where masters of the Department are trained (40 beds);
3) Private clinic Hayat (10 beds).

 

In the educational and methodical work of the Department there have been great changes. If in 1947 there were only 40 beds for surgical sick children, then in the present time – 80 beds. There is a large number of thematic patients, the Department has a proper number of educational visual AIDS: tables on all sections of pediatric surgery, traumatology, orthopedics and Oncology, slides, filmstrips, x-rays, photographs, study albums, methodological developments for students and guidelines for teachers on all topics of the curriculum of the course of pediatric surgery. In addition, the Department is equipped with different types of TSO. Slide projectors, film projector, as well as devices and equipment for educational, scientific and medical purposes: computer, mannequin, microscope,

 

Along with pedagogical and medical work of the employee of Department carry out the big research work. When analyzing the contingent of patients who were in the clinic, it was noted that a large number of sick children were treated for urolithiasis, osteomyelitis, echinococcal disease, foreign bodies of the gastrointestinal tract, appendicitis, intestinal intussusception, esophageal burn, rectal polyp, congenital deformities and other ailments. Based on this, the Department has set itself the task of comprehensive study of these diseases occurring in the Republic.

 

In the scientific subject of the Department, a special place is occupied by the study of regional pathology: in 1960, prof. Kh. Tagirov published a monograph "Urolithiasis in children in Uzbekistan". In 1962, under the direct participation of the Assoc. A. S. sulaymanova PhD student of Samarkand medical Institute A. A. Abdullayev completed and defended his thesis on the topic: "Urolithiasis in children" based on the materials of Samarkand and Khorezm regions. Employee of the Department Yu. b. Ulliev defended his thesis in 1971 on the topic: "Urolithiasis" (stones of the upper urinary tract in children). In 1956, V. N. Ismailova defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Treatment of hematogenous osteomyelitis in children”. In this work, the author proposed to apply along with the surgical method of antibiotic therapy and filling the bone cavity after surgery with bone shavings. The proposed method is currently used. Under the supervision of the Department staff, using materials of the clinic, completed and defended his thesis assistant in the Department of surgery, Vladivostok medical Institute N. With.Maschenko on the topic: “Foreign bodies of the gastrointestinal tract in children.” This is the result of fraternal assistance of the Department to workers of other republics. In 1964, E. F. Correl defended his thesis on the topic: “polyps of the rectum in children." Trainee researcher of the Department I. K. Tagirov at the Department of pediatric surgery of the 2nd Moscow med. he performed work on " Burns of the esophagus in children”, and in 1966 defended his thesis on this topic. Graduate student of Andijan medical Institute I. I. Iskandzhanov, seconded to the Department, in 1971 defended his thesis on the topic: “Acute intestinal intussusception in children." Assistant of the Department of pediatric surgery Tashgosmi Sulaymanov A. S. also studied the issues of regional pathology "Echinococcal disease in children in Uzbekistan".
