On 3rd of May, 2018, the delegation of the Bundang Hospital of the Seoul National University (SNU Bundang Hospital), headed by the chief physician, Professor Geon Sangun, visited the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute.
The delegation consisted of: Chief Physician of the Bundang Hospital of Seoul National University, doctor of medical sciences, professor Geon Sangun, Head of External Relations Department, doctor of medical sciences, professor Na Ki Yong, Director of the International Health Center, doctor of medical sciences, professor Sergei Kim.
During the visit, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the Tashkent pediatric medical institute and the Bundang Hospital of the Seoul National University (SNU Bundang Hospital), Seoul, Republic of Korea.
In the small conference hall of the Tashkent pediatric medical institute, a meeting of the TashPMI leadership with the South Korean delegation took place, following which the cooperation agreement was signed by TashPMI Rector, Professor B.T. Daminov and the chief physician of the Bundang Hospital, Professor Geon Sangun.
The meeting began with a greeting from the Rector of TashPMI, Professor B.T. Daminov: "We are glad to welcome you, we hope that our meeting will become the basis for fruitful cooperation. In my opinion, today relations develop in the most dynamic way. Our friendship and such relations will allow to raise cooperation to a new level. Of course, there are a lot of prospects". Also, in his speech B.T. Daminov noted that the world knows achievements in the field of medicine and health of the Republic of Korea.
Professor Geon Sangun expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Tashkent pediatric medical institute for the warm welcome and readiness for cooperation. The South Korean specialist noted that TashPMI is one of the most famous and prestigious medical universities in the Central Asian region. He also expressed his readiness to fully support joint work with a view to effective cooperation of both sides.
"We are happy to discuss with you the prospects of developing our relations on a mutually beneficial basis. Especially after that warm visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoev to the Republic of Korea, where issues of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries were discussed, including in the field of public health, "says the head physician of the hospital at the Seoul National University.
In addition, he told about internships of Uzbek doctors in the hospital at the Seoul National University.
The representative of the Korean delegation, the director of the International Health Center, Professor Sergei Kim, expressed the hope that cooperation in all the proposed areas will be fruitful both for doctors of Uzbek clinics and medical institutions, and for their South Korean counterparts.
The agreement will allow the effective development of cooperation in 7 areas to create a scientific-educational and research environment for the development and implementation of joint projects in the field of clinical development of clinical medicine, improving the skills of medical personnel, research and academic cooperation, organizing joint examinations of patients, development and implementation of telemedicine, joint operations, introduction and support of IT-technology in medicine and information systems in healthcare.
Both medical institutions in their countries are the leading innovative medical institutions in the field of training highly qualified medical personnel.
As a result of the visit, a delegation from the Republic of Korea, accompanied by the rector of TashPMI, Professor B.T. Daminov surveyed the Center for Information Resources, a student library and a simulation center which is under construction, acquainted with the technological equipment and facilities of the medical institution, created at the Tashkent pediatric medical institute.
Recall, in 2011 during the visit of the rector of TashPMI, Professor B.T. Daminov to the Bundang Hospital of the Seoul National University signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the two medical institutions.
