On December 14, 2018, in Tashkent, a scientific-practical conference on the topic: “Actual issues of neurology”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Academician N.М. Madjidov was held in the conference hall of the International-Tashkent Hotel.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and the Public Association of Neurologists of Uzbekistan.
Over the past years of Independence, as well as over the past year, the public health of Uzbekistan, on the initiative and with the support of the head of our state, Sh. M. Mirziyoyev, has made a very big step forward. A unique system of emergency medical care has been formed, a number of specialized centers have been created, a harmonious system of primary care is being developed for the population. Neurology also did not remain aloof from these reforms.
In particular, there appeared real opportunities for the development and implementation of high-tech methods for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases in emergency medical centers equipped according to modern international standards. First of all, it is a surgical treatment and thrombolysis in cerebral strokes. In regional and district hospitals, on the orders of the Minister of Health No. 570, the number of neurological beds increased, neurological equipment was equipped and neurological assistance appeared more efficiently and professionally. There are opportunities for close interaction of neurology and other specialties through the creation of specialized centers. And, finally, neurology is as close as possible to general medical practice due to the creation and strengthening of the material and technical base of regional and district medical multi-disciplinary associations, rural family polyclinics. Particular attention is paid to the modern possibilities of rehabilitation of post-stroke patients, the application of the experience of foreign countries in clinical practice in our country.
In particular, the plans for health development measures for 2019 set up the creation of 2-3 inter-regional stroke centers in each region, including a neuro-resuscitation unit with a multidisciplinary team and a neuro-rehabilitation unit equipped with robotic and mechanical therapy devices.
Clinical neurology occupies a large place in the system of public health. This is primarily due to a wide range of nosological forms that are in the sphere of interest of the neurologist and the high demand of the population for qualified neurological assistance. Each of the sections of neuroscience is actually an independent scientific and practical direction. Therefore, it is very correct that the program of the conference of neurologists of Uzbekistan covers a wide range of issues in all areas of this specialty.
