Division History
In June 2002, a competition of fundamental, applied and innovative grants was announced by the Committee for Coordination of development of Science and Technology of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In September 2002, because of lack of experience of projects layouts, research staff of TashPMI prepared and submitted only a total of 13 fundamental, applied and innovative research projects. All of them were approved, and in order to carry out them financial funds were obtained.
Professor A.V. Alimov, Professor T.S. Agzamkhodjaev, Professor A.R. Isroilov, Associate Professor M.N. Karimova, Associate Professor M.A. Nadjmitdinova, etc. were in the list of the first heads of grant research projects. Topics of the relevant projects were consistent with priorities of Pediatrics: the project of A.V. Alimov was devoted to prediction of neonatal health, T.S. Agzamkhodjaev's project - to ways of optimization of treatment of severe pneumonia in children, A.R. Isroilov's one - to the significance of maternal milk in the formation of pediatric health, M.N. Karimova's one - to the study of dynamics of health of children who had entered school since 6 years old, improving forms and methods of clinical examination of children entering school, and M.A. Nadjmitdinova's project was devoted to changes occured in children with anemia and ways to prevent them.
The first coordinator of grant projects in TashPMI was Associate Professor A.K. Rakhmatullaev. Many of the departments, which won grants, were equipped with computers, multimedia devices and other instruments and apparatus. In 2005, after grant projects had been finished, the next competition was announced.
Between 2006-2012, the coordinator of grant research projects was Professor U.K. Ibragimov.
During his leadership the following research grant projects were carried out (2006-2011):

- Applied Project A-9-311 “Sparing strategy in the treatment of bronchiectasis in pulmonary hypoplasia in children”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor M.M. Aliyev. Project duration: 2006-2008.
- Fundamental project SSF3-048 “Activation of apoptotic factors in hypoxic states”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor D.I. Akhmedova. Project duration: 2006-2011.
- Innovative Project “Introduction of methods for correction of malnutrition in children at the first 3 years of life in the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor D.I. Akhmedova. Project duration: 2008-2009.
- Applied Project “Comprehensive assessment of health and development of children aged 5-18 years and impact of environmental factors and lifestyle on them in the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor D.I. Akhmedova. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Applied project IBSS 29-4 “Development of methods for prediction and prevention of certain complications of pregnancy” (IDT-11 “Protection of public health by improving existing and creating new methods of technology in medicine”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor D.D. Kurbanov. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Applied project IBSS 29-5 “Optimization of diagnosis and treatment of congenital obstructive uropathy in children”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor M.M. Aliyev. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Applied Project “Oxidative stress in otorhinolaryngological diseases”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor S.A. Hasanov. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Applied project IBSS 29-8 “Development of pathogenetic therapy based on the study of somatic complications of opioid addiction in adolescence”. Project head: Dr.Bio.Sc., Professor U.K. Ibragimov. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Applied project IBSS 29-3 "Development of chronopharmacological approach to the basic treatment of diffuse connective tissue diseases in children". Project head: PhD, Associate Professor M.N. Karimova. Project duration: 2009-2011.
- Innovative project I-21 “New technologies of surgical treatment of bronchiectasis and pulmonary hypoplasia in children”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor M.M. Aliyev. Project duration: 2010-2011.
- Innovative project ISS 11-16 “Introduction of new methods of surgical treatment for anomalies of female genital organs”. Project head: Dr.Med.Sc., Professor D.D. Kurbanov. Project duration: 2011-2012.
Since 2012 until November 2013, the coordinator of grant research projects was B.Yu. Ulliev.
Since November 2013 until the present time, the coordinator of grant research projects is Kh.A. Rasulova, PhD. Since January 2014 she is head of Research Laboratory, which was renamed for Department (Laboratory) of Coordination of Research Activity of TashPMI according to the Inner Order of rector No. 106 dated April 1, 2014, and later adopted Department Regulation.
