Since July 1, 2019, together with local citizens' self-government bodies, medical volunteers from the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute have been conducting an action on patronage and medical examination of residents of the capital. 

In pursuance of measures to implement 5 initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, activists of the “Society of Volunteer Youth of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute” on medical volunteering conduct an action on patronage and medical examination of residents of the makhalla of Yunusabad and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts of the capital. More than 80 medical volunteers took places to provide medical and social assistance to the socially vulnerable layer of the population (invalids, war and labor veterans, single elderly citizens) of the city of Tashkent.

The initiative of the volunteers is aimed at maintaining close contacts and dialogue with the people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing diseases, as well as helping to find solutions to medical and social problems that concern citizens. Activists checked the health of local residents, trained everyone to provide first aid, informed them about the harmful effects of bad habits and told about measures to prevent drug addiction. 

Medical volunteers together with representatives of the gathering of citizens (makhallas) Posira, Yurtobod, Choshtepa, Uvaisiy, Bobodekhkon, Ittifok and Feruza visited the residents' houses for preventive work, health education and medical examination.

Residents of Yunusabad and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts were told about socially significant diseases, their blood pressure was measured, and medical recommendations and useful tips on proper nutrition, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle were given.
