November 9 this year in honor of the Day of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Palace of Arts "Turkiston" held a festive event. Representatives of the Government of the country, the Ministry of Health, the sphere of medicine gathered here.

According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Establishing the Day of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated September 12, 2006, the second Sunday of November is widely celebrated as the Day of Medical Workers in our country. The current festive event was organized at a high level.

As was noted at the solemn event, in a short period, about 130 regulatory documents aimed at the development of medicine were adopted at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. On their basis, the quality of primary, emergency, emergency and specialized medical care is consistently improved, systematic work is being done to develop the private healthcare sector, provide the population with affordable and high-quality medicines, modern medical supplies, and train qualified professionals. In Uzbekistan, funds allocated from the State budget to finance the health care system are growing from year to year. In 2018, 9.6 trillion soums were sent to the sphere, which is 1.4 times more than last year. After all, investment in medicine is an invaluable investment not only in the present, but also in the future.

Advanced standards are being implemented in the work of primary health care institutions. After all, it is here that most people turn. In this system, more than two thousand social pharmacies were organized, which previously did not exist, and 793 rural family clinics, where doctors are on duty 24 hours a day. The work of narrowly specialized doctors - therapists, surgeons, pediatricians, dentists and gynecologists - has been established here. In addition, a system for rating the work of medical workers has been introduced. Doctors are allowed to work at two rates and receive pensions in full. There is a gradual transition to the “Electronic Polyclinic” system, which is characterized by an electronic appointment for a visit to the doctor and the formation of a database of patients.

And also separately it can be noted about changes in the directions of protection of motherhood and childhood, improvement of emergency medical care, improvement of the provision of medicines. The activity of specialized medical centers is being improved from year to year, and high-quality assistance from doctors of narrow professions is becoming available in the regions. Together with the recently created center of neurology and stroke, the number of republican specialized scientific and practical medical centers has reached 16.

Efforts to reform medicine do not stop. The experience of advanced foreign countries is being studied, cooperation with international organizations is being strengthened. The concept of development of the health care system for seven years, calculated up to 2025, is being developed.

At the festive event organized in honor of the Day of Medical Workers, in the framework of the contest “Best Doctor of the Year”, dedicated workers of the sphere were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts in 30 nominations (in each 1-, 2-, 3-places). Among them are “The best infectiologist of the year doctor”, “The best doctor of the sanitary and epidemiological service of the year”, “Best pediatrician of the year”, “Best neonatologist of the year”, “Best therapist of the year”, “Best surgeon of the year”, “Best obstetrician-gynecologist of the year "," The best health care organizer of the year "," The best cardiologist of the year "and others. 

The songs performed by the artists gave the audience a festive mood.
