The department was founded in 1972 at the clinic of the Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute. The department activities are guided by current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health and the Charter of the university. The department is leaded by chief, which is  appointed by order of the Rector of the university and is a structural part of the Institute.
