Announced the ranking of higher education institutions

The enlarged collegium of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education was held today. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The rating of higher education institutions as of January 1, 2019 was announced at the meeting.

On February-June of the current year the activities of 57 higher education institutions (including branches) of the republic were analyzed based on international indicators and their rating results as of January 1, 2019 were prepared:

1. National University of Uzbekistan in Humanities and Economics, Samarkand State University, Tashkent State Economic University; Tashkent Financial Institute and the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies occupy leading positions.

Also, Tashkent Financial Institute, Urgench State University, Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature are higher than previous year.

2. Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Mechanization of Agricultural Engineers, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Tashkent Institute of Railway Transport Engineers and Tashkent State Agrarian University are leading in the field of engineering and agriculture.

Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Mechanization of Agricultural Engineers has been active in this area and has been ranked first in the national ranking. Also Tashkent State Agrarian University rose from 12th to 6th place.

3. The leading positions in the field of medicine are taken by the Tashkent Dental Institute, the Tashkent Medical Academy and the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute.

Samarkand State Medical Institute and Andijan State Medical Institute are in last place.

In this regard, the Bukhara State Medical Institute rose to the 16th place, rising from the 43rd place in last year's ranking.

4. In the field of culture, arts and sports, the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, the National Institute of Arts and Design took the leading positions. These HEIs were in the top 10 last year. In the current rating, the activity of these universities has changed dramatically and took 24th and 29th place respectively.
National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Samarkand State University, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers are the leaders in the overall ranking.

At the same time, the National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and Samarkand State University are leading in terms of scientific potential.

Most of foreign professors work in Tashkent Medical Academy, National University of Uzbekistan, Uzbek State World Languages ​​University, Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.

The highest results on student education were obtained by the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Navoi State Mining Institute, Tashkent State Agrarian University, Urgench State University.

The highest scores for employers were given by the National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Tashkent State Technical University, Urgench State University, Tashkent State Pedagogical University, Tashkent State Economic University, Karakalpak State University. Institute.

Employers responded positively to "Knowledge and Skills of Alumni" - 72%, "Higher Education Partnerships" - 65%, "Graduates' Opportunities for Growth" - 75%, "Higher Education Professionals" - 69%. Also, 94% of employers said they would hire graduates of our national universities in the future.

In the future, based on the analysis of the rating results, a “roadmap” project will be developed to include universities in the international rating. It also prepares and submits to the Cabinet of Ministers the analytical data on universities that can be included in the world rankings among the top 10 universities in the national rankings. Based on the results of the rating, the MHSSE will be asked to approve the “roadmap” for inclusion in the list of international rating agencies such as QS, THE. This will serve as a first step towards the ranking of our national universities in the ranking of world universities.
