"Folk medicine as an additional method of providing medical care to the population".

On October 31 this year in Tashkent pediatric Institute, political Council of SDPU "Adolat", faction of SDPU " Adolat "in the Legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis in cooperation with the Ministry of health and public Fund Ibn Sino held a round table entitled "Folk medicine as an additional method of providing medical care to the population".

It was attended by members of the party faction in the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis, experts, scientists, representatives of the General public and the media.

The event discussed the essence and importance of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "on measures to streamline the sphere of traditional medicine in the Republic of Uzbekistan", the problems of development of traditional medicine in the country and ways to solve them, as well as the task of improving its legal framework.

As it was noted, over the past two decades, the services of traditional healers have become widely popular among various segments of the population, the interest in traditional systems of medicine, especially herbal medicines, has increased significantly in both developed and developing countries, and today this is due to the fact that the growing number of acute chronic diseases in which the narrowly focused effect of chemicals is not effective enough.

That is why in 2014 the world health organization (who) approved the "Global strategy of the world health organization on traditional medicine", that is, on traditional medicine, and called on all States to develop traditional medicine and integrate it into modern health care.

Today, in many developing countries, there is a certain degree of order, and there is a legal framework for the provision of services by traditional healers - with the use of traditional medicine.

In this context, we note that the analysis of the state of Affairs in this area indicates the absence in our country: the regulatory framework governing the provision of traditional medicine services; control over the quality and safety offered by persons engaged in the treatment of such methods; the order and mechanisms for regulating the interaction and integration of traditional medicine with modern medicine in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, etc. The adopted resolution "on measures to streamline the sphere of traditional medicine in the Republic of Uzbekistan" will help to eliminate problems in this area and bring it to a new level.

Priority tasks defined in the resolution as the key areas of development of traditional medicine that is, the formation of the legal framework providing for the regulation and control of activities in the field of traditional medicine, as well as the definition of the legal status and responsibility of persons engaged in the provision of medical services using these methods, for the consequences of their activities, the use of the potential of traditional medicine through integration into modern medicine, play an important role in the implementation of the principle of "Improving the provision of quality medical services to a wide range of people", outlined in the election program of SDPU "Adolat".

At the event, proposals of practicing representatives of traditional medicine, experts, scientists, deputies on further improvement of the sphere of traditional medicine were heard.

At the end of the round table, it was decided to cooperate with the SDPU "Adolat" faction in the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry of health and the Ibn Sino Public Fund to regulate legal relations and improve the legislative framework in this sphere.
